Southampton want Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin back

Southampton will try and push Arsenal in the summer to get Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back at the South coast side. Five years ago the youngster was sold to the Gunners for £15 million but has started to become frustrated with his lack of first team starts at The Emirates. Oxlade-Chamberlain still has two years left on his current contract but nothing has been said about renewing it at the end of this time. The 22 year old was at Southampton from the age of six and stayed until he was 17. He has since gained many full England caps. The mirror have said that Southampton FC will more than likely be putting in an offer for the midfielder when the summer transfer window opens. Liverpool and Manchester City have also eyed up Oxlade-Chamberlain's talent so it looks like Southampton won't be the only bid! By Eleanor Pomeroy

Could Fraser Forster be number one?

Fraser Forster could possibly be first choice for England’s friendlies against Germany and Holland after Joe Hart has pulled out through injury. Hart has had to withdraw from the team after gaining a calf injury in the Manchester derby on Sunday. Forster currently has three England caps, and could possibly gain his fourth in the upcoming international friendlies. Since returning from injury in January, Forster has kept six clean sheets in 11 games, and is up against Burnley keeper Tom Heaton for the spot. Forster has always been in competition with Hart who has dominated the number one position over the past few years. The Saints stopper can use this chance to really show Roy Hodgson what he is capable of. Team mate Ryan Betrand was also called up to the England squad for the friendlies. Saints stun Liverpool

Southampton FC managed to come back from 2-0 at half time to beat Liverpool 3-2 at 90 minutes on Sunday at StMary's. It was a slow first half for the Saints after they were denied a penalty in the opening minutes of the game. Liverpool went on to score two goals whilst Saints seemed to loose interest. A pretty woeful performance left Ronald Koeman's side trailing at half time. Liverpool looked as though they were going to cruise through the game and it was going to be another 6-1 disaster like when the two sides last met in December. However the game was soon turned on its head when Koeman decided to make some substitutions. Sadio Mane was one of them who replaced Tadic at half time and within only three minutes missed a penalty with Simon Mignolet judging it just right. However the striker went onto score two goals for the Saints, the first came in the 64th minute. Graziano Pelle managed to bag the equaliser in the 83rd minute as he struck the ball past Mignolets right hand. Just three minutes later Saints made it 3-2 when Mane managed to hit the back of the net for the second time. He hadn't scored in 16 games before yesterday's heroic display for the South Coast side. Southampton now sit 7th in the Premier League and are just 3 points away from European football. With just seven games left can Saints make it into the top six? By Eleanor Pomeroy Voice FM Breakfast
