Voice FM is a Community Radio Station for Southampton. It launched in 2011 and is broadcast on 103.9FM and online at www.voicefmradio.co.uk

As a community station, Voice FM is licensed and regulated by OFCOM

News

Voice FM takes hourly national news from IRN / Sky News – a national news service provider.

In addition, there is a local news service during the weekday breakfast show between 7.30am and 11am – 7.30am, 8.00am, 8.30am, 9.00am, 10.00am & 11.00am

News is broadcast 24hrs a day, with the exception of specialist shows between 6pm and 11pm and during exceptional circumstances such as outside broadcasts.

Programming

All of Voice FM’s output is created for broadcast from our studios, except for some specialist shows.

Voice FM makes use of all modern radio production techniques, so some segments within any broadcast hour may be pre-recorded or delivered from an offsite location. This could include phone calls or interviews with guests including celebrities, as well as national news from the Sky News centre.

Music

Voice FM’s music is mainly mainstream chart, pop, rock , alternative and indie with a variety of specialist shows covering music not otherwise offered by other stations in the city. These include ‘The Soul Train’, ‘South By Southampton’ , ‘In Session’, ‘Centre Stage’, ‘Wildlife 80’s’,  ‘The Asylum Rock Show’, ‘Youth Club Disco party hits’.

Voice FM takes its obligations as a community broadcaster seriously. We attempt to ensure our output is impartial, fair and appropriate, nor does it cause harm or undue offence.

Ofcom has broadcasting codes that apply to TV & Radio on its website that we follow.
