BIG MOUTH COMEDY FESTIVAL RETURNS WITH A HOST OF TOP NAMES INCLUDING MILTON JONES, STAR OF COLD FEET; JOHN THOMSON AND MEN BEHAVING BADLY’S NEIL MORRISSEY!

Following its hugely successful introduction last year, The Big Mouth Comedy Festival returns to Portsmouth Guildhall from 1st – 8th March in what is set to be a fine four days of folly, frivolity and tomfoolery guaranteed!

Opening the Festival on Friday 1st March is a headline night with absurdist genius Milton Jones supported by one of the finest female comics at work, Jo Caulfield, one of the best young comedians around; Ivo Graham and nominee for Edinburgh Comedy Festival’s award for Best Show, Larry Dean.

Enjoy 6 hours of comedy madness on Saturday 2nd March featuring Q&As hosted by the voice of Plusnet, Craig Murray, with two of TV’s comedy legends; star of Men Behaving Badly, Neil Morrissey and Cold Feet’s John Thomson. Plus the Best of the Fringe with some of the biggest stars from Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Comedy Central and more including Geoff Norcott, Ivo Graham, Dane Baptiste, Nigel Ng, John Moloney and returning for a second slot, Larry Dean.

On this day, The University of Portsmouth will also be hosting thought provoking and interactive panels on the themes of ‘Comedy and Political Correctness’ and ‘Comedy and Nostalgia’. Is there room for political correctness in comedy or do we really live in a PC world? And what is the importance of nostalgia in comedy or do we place too much emphasis on old comedy?

Multi award–winning The Pretend Men’s highly anticipated and sell out show at the Edinburgh Fringe, Police Cops in Space, comes to the Guildhall Studio as part of the Festival on Thursday 7th March. This space age comedy blockbuster, described as “an 80s low-fi, sci-fi”, is not to be missed!

Wrapping up Big Mouth on Friday 8th March is an evening of the UK’s Hottest New Acts including star of Live at the Comedy Store, Tom Lucy, winner of South Coast Comedian of the Year; Mike Cox, BBC New Comedy Award finalist; Amir Khoshsokhan and just announced; Sarah Callaghan, who with her frank and fearless style has been taking the comedy circuit by storm since being named as ‘One to Watch’ by Time Out, 2014.

All hosted by local comedian, actor and writer, James Alderson tickets for individual dates or a full Festival Pass so you don’t miss a minute are available now at: bigmouthcomedyfestival.co.uk or the Guildhall Box Office: 0844 847 2362 (calls cost 7p per minute + network access charge).
