Outrageous , Fun and downright brilliant !!! That is the only
way to describe this awesome Stage production of the 2005
British made Comedy Drama Kinky Boots .
Music and Lyrics written by 80’s music icon Cyndi Lauper.
Set in a factory kinky boots is based on a true story that
happened in Earls Barton in England. The film and stage
production were inspired by W.J Brooks Shoe Company's
venture into fetish footwear.
After his father's demise, Charlie Price , played brilliantly by
Andy Watkins, inherits the family business, a shoe factory in
Northampton, England. He is not interested in shoes, and the
factory is in such dire financial straits that he must lay off 15
employees. However an encounter with a transvestite cabaret
singer Lola ( Kayi Ushe) inspires Charlie to save the factory
from closure by producing erotic footwear, much to the
uncertainty of the workers.
Throughout the show the scene changes are faultless and very
simple but hugely effective.
One minute you are in a Factory and the next you are in a
cabaret club complete with the most convincing Transvestite’s.
Then suddenly you are transported back to the factory again
in a blink of an eye.

The costumes are glamorous if not at times risqe and the
dancing and singing superb. A Live band is playing in the pit
adding to the feeling you are part of the Cabaret Club .
Full of gags and innuendos that had the audience in fits of
laughter plus catchy songs that get you clapping your hands.
I recommend you to treat yourselves to a night of total joy .
Oh! The finale on the catwalk had everyone on their feet
clapping and cheering finished with a standing ovation !!!
