You will have heard him a few weeks ago on Punk on the Rocks and now Daniel - best known as the frontman of rock bands New Device and Jordan Red - is using his acoustic solo project for a good cause.
Daniel will be performing his debut EP 'My Little Eye' in full in an exclusive live stream for the first time since its release in 2012. Every ticket sold will support this years Poppy Appeal who are struggling with donations due to the pandemic. With the ability to sell poppies in person hampered due to a large portion of the country unable to leave their homes to purchase they have had to come up with new ways to gain funding and support.
When Daniel wrote his WW2 inspired song 'For Better Days' - which appears on the EP - there were always plans to use this to support the Poppy Appeal. The song came to Daniel in a dream and tells the heart-breaking story of a WW2 pilot writing letters to his sweetheart who he never gets to return home to. It is an incredibly moving song and has been a firm fan favourite.
Daniel and his team at DJT Entertainment - who have an office in Southampton - have been working hard on a moving video to support the song which will be premiered during the live stream tomorrow. It features old photographs from Daniels own archive and that of his team and close friends who have family who were involved in or were lost in the war. Making it an even more poignant reminder of how lucky we are now and how much we owe to those who are no longer with us.
Tickets for the stream are priced at £7 and are available here
During Lockdown Daniel has been performing live streams nightly on Facebook and Twitch and having reached 1.5 MILLION people to date with this song during those now seemed a fitting time to utilise that exposure for something good.
