" Derelict " if the name doesn't already fill you with fear, you're doing life wrong. This six piece London based "Progressive Metalcore" band are a jack of all trades, own management, own label, they do everything behind closed doors, except destroy the scene. Their debut single "Karma" was an amazing entry and showed everyone they don't mess about.
Four insanely disgusting tunes later, we land ourselves in "Anno Infernum" advertised everywhere with the unforgettable words "A YEAR IN HELL". I have never in my life heard a pre breakdown, where it's nothing but two absolute lads, just screaming and yelling – until the promised happens, a filthy unforgiving breakdown.
The vocalists Gregor "X" Macmillan and Brad "Ø" Jones, have an amazing harmony that crosses the boarder between somewhat clean and full on destruction – in not only this single, but the entire discography. But if you really want a place to start, "Anno Infernum" is definitely the place to jump in head first, no life raft.
The guitar work delivered by Chris "Jinn" Allen and Frank "Mara" McArdle is teeth rattling, right down to the bloody root... (*ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS*) *excuse me.* Anyway, low tunings, mind boggling noises you'd expect to heat in the catacombs, or the doom feeling when Will "Maigo" HP absolutely destroys the bass guitar. But if you're a huge drum head *excuse the pun* Tom "Asura" Hards, mixes blast beats with some insane technicalities.
If you love "Emmure", "Loathe", "Northlane" and even "periphery"
THIS WILL BE THE BAND FOR YOU.
