Voice FM is Standing in solidarity with the events industry and its workers today for #WeMakeEvents a day of global action

UK events contribute significantly to the UK economy and supports circa one million livelihoods. It creates millions of memories with millions of stories, stories that are told, and retold to friends and families around the world.

Unfortunately there are still so many people and businesses falling through the cracks of Government support, especially the skilled technicians and freelancers whose jobs have been unfairly called not viable.

Support for them is not covered by the £1.57 billion arts package. These people are integral to the touring circuit, if they are forced to leave the industry it could be disastrous for live entertainment. Acts and venues of all sizes rely on these workers. Without major support the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.

We urge the Government to strongly reconsider their position and offer the events industry the thorough support it needs and deserves.

Event professionals from thousands of cities in more than 20 countries are joining together to stand as one.
