The Rolling Stones perform at St Marys’ Stadium

The Rolling Stones visit Southampton for the first time in 55 years.

Legendary rock band last performed in the city on September 29 1963, in what is now the Mayflower Theatre, formerly known as Southampton Gaumont.

Crowds weren’t disappointed as they avoided the rain and turned up to enjoy a show as part of the Stones ‘No Filter Tour’.

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood took to the stage once again in the second leg of their tour, after forming in 1962.

After performing tracks such as ‘Satisfaction’, ‘Tumbling Dice’ and ‘Paint It Black’, who knows how long it could be before they return again.

The Vaccines were also present at St Marys’ as they supported the legendary four piece.
