Sunday 8th March at Shirley Warren Action Church
David’s Dash, a charity dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention and supporting those affected by suicide, will be holding a deeply significant commissioning ceremony for David’s motorbike at Shirley Warren Action Church, 107-117 Warren Crescent, Southampton. SO16 6AY on Sunday 8th March.
The church – well known within the biking and local community as the home of Biker Bacon Butties – provides a fitting and heartfelt venue for the launch of a new chapter in the charity’s journey.
A Milestone Moment for David’s Dash
Founded in memory of David, who tragically lost his life to suicide, David’s Dash works to create safe spaces for conversation, connection, and community support. The commissioning of David’s motorbike marks a powerful milestone, symbolising remembrance and renewed purpose.
The event also celebrates the personal achievement of David’s mum, a trained therapist and founder of the charity. She recently obtained her full motorbike licence from scratch specifically so she could ride David’s bike to spread his story across the country and beyond as part of the charity’s expanding outreach work.
Launch of the David’s Dash Roadshow
The ceremony will also mark the official launch of the David’s Dash Roadshow, a nationwide initiative that will take the charity’s message and support directly to communities throughout the UK.
The Roadshow will create welcoming environments where people can talk openly about suicide, access information, share experiences, and find connection without judgement or stigma.
David’s Dash works closely with Mental Health Motorbike, a national charity dedicated to improving mental wellbeing among UK bikers, and plans to attend many of their events as well as a wide range of other community gatherings across the country.
Organisations, groups, and venues wishing to host the Roadshow are invited to get in touch via the David’s Dash website.
A Community Hub for Bikers
Shirley Warren Action Church continues to be a key meeting point for bikers across the region. It’s Biker Bacon Butties breakfast runs from 10am-12pm on:
- First Saturday of each month: Bacon, sausage and/or egg baps
- Third Saturday of each month: Full English breakfast
- These gatherings offer food, friendship, and a welcoming environment for the local community as well as the wider biking community – making it the perfect home for this special commissioning event.
