This achievement reflects the council’s commitment to delivering high-quality, well-maintained, and environmentally sustainable parks. The Green Flag Award, regarded as the international benchmark for quality parks and green spaces, honours outstanding standards in park management, safety, cleanliness, and community involvement. The awarded parks in Southampton include Cedar Lodge Park, Freemantle Lake Park, Mansel Park, Mayfield Park, Millers Pond, Peartree Common Local Nature Reserve (LNR), Portswood Recreation Ground, Riverside Park, Southampton’s Central Parks, St James’ Park, and Town Quay Park.
