Christmas lights in Southampton Thurs 13 Nov 4pm
The countdown to Christmas in Southampton is officially on, with a host of festive events and experiences lined up to light up the city for 2025. Whether you're a resident, a visitor, or a local business owner, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this season.
S&D Leisure is bringing back the much-loved Southampton Christmas Market. Festivities start with the Magic of Christmas event on Thursday 13 November from 4pm. The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Southampton and the Children’s Mayor will officially switch on the Christmas lights at 8pm. Expect performances from DJ Flash, street performers, and a new laser show projected onto the Bargate.
The Christmas Market runs until Sunday 4 January 2026, featuring a wide variety of stalls, delicious food and drink, festive bars, dazzling lights, exciting rides, and entertainment for all ages.
Families can meet Father Christmas at Tudor House and Garden on weekends from Saturday 6 December to Monday 22 December. Alongside the magical meet-and-greet, there will be Christmas-themed crafts and activities throughout December. To find out more and book Father Christmas and festive workshops, visit the website.
From Saturday 29 November to Sunday 4 January, GO! Southampton will host a free festive walking trail in the city centre. Plus, there are secret QR codes at each stop that unlock discounts, rewards and giveaways at local venues and independent retailers.
Embrace the magic of Christmas and step into a Winter Wonderland as On Ice returns to Westquay, featuring ice skating, shopping and dining. Then keep the Christmas cheer alive at The Mayflower Theatre, where a star-studded cast brings the Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan from Saturday 13 December - Monday 5 January. A must-see for Christmas theatre lovers!

Southampton City Council, in partnership with Bluestar, will be reducing the cost of the Southampton Weekend Park & Ride to just £3 for sustainable, affordable travel for the whole family or friends (up to 5 people). The offer price will come into effect from Saturday 15 November and will run until Sunday 4 January.
