More Information (Voice FM Southampton is not responsible for external websites)
A San Diego alt-country artist and five-times San Diego Music Awards winner. Eve isn’t just a ‘singer’ – she’s an emotion transducer who converts country, R&B, blues, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll signals into a megawatt zap that galvanizes everyone in its path. And as with fellow femme-furnace frontwomen Bonnie Raitt, Joan Osborne, Maria McKee, Melissa Etheridge, and Lydia Pense, the cauterizing power of Selis’s voice can arc-weld material from almost any genre into a personal manifesto.
New CD, Dark Sky Blue will be released on April 12th.
Selis has been a singer for as long as she can remember – she grew up in the San Diego region and as a youngster began performing in her local church band, all the while dreaming of becoming a rock star.
After an abortive spell at university studying musical theatre and English, Selis began a career performing, writing and recording her own music and has released 10 albums to date She has gigged at the infamous Abbey Road Studios, toured Europe, and her last studio album, See Me With Your Heart was produced by GRAMMY-award winning producer Kenny Greenberg (Allison Moorer, The Mavericks, Joan Baez).
Eve is supported on this tour by Randi Driscoll, an award winning singer-songwriter, pianist and composer. Randi's original music, voice and stage performances have been featured in film, television, documentaries and a commercial directed by Spike Lee, in which Randi also appears, and have earned her numerous accolades and special mentions is American Songwriter Magazine and Rolling Stone. Randi’s anti-hate ballad, “What Matters,” (a benefit single for the Matthew Shepard Foundation) has won numerous awards, and has been performed by over fifty choirs around the world. Randi lives in Nashville where she hosts the popular writer's night "Randi's Revival" and can often be found performing with her super-group, "Three of Hearts" featuring herself, Kim Mclean and Eve Selis.
