The Dolphin

Southampton’s Open Mic Scene

Saturday, 26 April 2025 - 53 minutes

Open Mic at the Dolphin pub in St Denys Southampton, has a long standing tradition of vibrant open mics.  The newest organisers, Keith and Monica Domone, have been stageing the event since just before the Covid lockdown.  No sooner had it started, then the whole world went into lockdown.  As the restrictions eased, so the open mic slowly came back to life. The loyal band of musicians has grown over the years into a now sizeable family.

Located at 30 Osbourne road south, the open mic usally starts at 7.30pm, with signing up from 7pm.  The event enbraces all genres, from rock, blues, folk and jass. As well as wrap and poetry.

Whether you an aspiring musican, looking to get your first taste of public performance, or an already old time pro, the Dolphin open mic will always be welcoming and engaging.

Beyond the Open Mic, the Dolphin offers a wide range of musical entertainment, with live bands from Friday to Sunday every week. This combination of live music served along with real ales, makes this a cherished venue for musicians and all music lovers of Southampton.
